Taking a break from photography can feel like stepping away from a part of yourself. After years focused on professional work commitments in the USA, I have found it challenging to return to creative pursuits. Now retired, the excitement of picking up the camera, pencil, paintbrush, lino-cutter again and exploring new ways to capture the world is a fresh start.

Embracing the Shift Back to Photography
After a long pause from anything creative can feel overwhelming. The tools, trends, and techniques evolve quickly. For someone who spent years away from creativity for a real job, the first step is to embrace the changes without pressure. For the photography side the phone-camera has become a powerful tool for many photographers, offering convenience and impressive image quality. This form of iphonography (with the iPhone of course) allows for spontaneous creativity, capturing moments anytime and anywhere.
Using an iPhone for photography means you don’t need bulky equipment or complicated setups. It encourages experimentation with angles, lighting, and composition in everyday life. For example, a simple walk in the neighborhood can turn into a photo adventure, focusing on textures, shadows, or reflections. I hope to bring more to these pages. Wish me luck.
